Alicia Keys-Back To Life From The Queen Of Katwe Soundtrack

Alicia Keys’s “Back To Life” is from the soundtrack to The Queen Of Katwe. The Disney film stars David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o and Maldina Nalwanga in a story about Phiona Mutesi, a woman chess champion from Uganda. Mira Nair directs the film which is based on a screenplay from William Wheeler. The Queen Of Katwe will have a limited release September 10th and a wide release on September 30th.


Stephen Marley-Scars On My Feet Featuring Waka Flocka

Stephen Marley and Waka Flocka walk through the streets with a lion and drummers play in the grass for Marley’s “Scars On My Feet” video. Their collaboration is one of the best contributions on Marley’s Revelations Part II: Fruit Of Life album. Images of Dr. King and the struggles of Black people are blended in with their footage to show the root of the struggles they have survived and conquered to be whole.


Peter Tosh’s Word, Sound And Power Band To Reunite For Museum Opening


Peter Tosh’s Word, Sound and Power band will reunite on October 22nd for the opening of the Peter Tosh Museum in Kingston, Jamaica. The original members including Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Mikey Chung, Steve Golding, Robbie Lyn, Keith Sterling, Carlton “Santa” Davis, George “Fully” Fullwood, Carlton Smith, Derrick Lara, Junior Moore, Donald Kinsey and session musicians Dean Fraser and Nambo Robinson will perform at the event. Ky-Mani Marley and Tarrus Riley are also scheduled to perform at the event. The Peter Tosh Museum will honor Tosh’s legacy as a founding member of  The Wailers and his solo career. Run The Jewels Offer Preview Of New Song In Gears Of War Video Game

Run The Jewels shared a preview of their new song “Panther Of A Panther” inside the Gears Of War video game. The song is from their upcoming Run The Jewels 3 and can be heard exclusively in the Horde 3.0 trailer for Gears of War 4. Killer Mike and El-P are characters in the Gears of War and this Saturday, September 3rd they will appear at BAIT in Seattle with the game’s co-creator Rod Fergusson for some giveaways. They will greet the fans at BAIT from 2-3PM and later that evening at 7:20 PM they will perform at the Bumbershoot Music And Arts Festival in downtown Seattle.
