Santigold-Banshee Official Video

Santigold’s video for “Banshee” is co-directed by artist Kara Walker and filmmaker Ari Marcopoulos. Santigold starts the video holding a sign that says “Will Work For Blood” and later she dances onstage and a marionette bearing her likeness becomes the focus of the show. Santigold’s 99 ⍧ents album is out now and you can stream it here and buy it here.


Afropunk After Dark Schedule Will Be Hosted By Saul Williams And Have Poetry From Nikki Giovanni

Afropunk’s annual festival is taking place in Brooklyn again this year and the festival is taking place August 27th and 28th. The After Dark series will begin Thursday (August 25th) evening and end on Monday, August 29th. Saturday night Nikki Giovanni will read poetry and Saul Williams is the host. The Gza will perform with DJ Premier  Saturday night at a secret location and Angelo Moore is the host. There will be a dance party, a Black party, a performance from Laura Mvula among the many events. Tayla’s Call Me Danger Pulls From The ’80’s & ’00’s

Tayla is a UK native and her “Call Me Danger” single pulls from ’80’s synth-heavy R&B and R&B/pop of the 2000’s. According to Tayla: “Call Me Danger’ is about feeling 100% confident and not giving a flying fuck about what anyone else thinks. Going out, having your look on point, feeling killer sexy and having the attitude to back it up.”

Frank Ocean-Blonde Album Stream


Frank Ocean stirred the internet with the internet streams on his website and then he released his visual album Endless. This past weekend he followed-up Endless with his Blonde album. Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce are some of the artists who appear on the album. Blonde is the new name for the album previously titled Boys Don’t Cry.
