Stevie Nicks wrote “Stand Back” after listening to the melody of Prince’s “Little Red Corvette” on the night of her honeymoon. Nicks, who became famous for singing with Fleetwood Mac, quickly told her friend Prince about the song. He went into the studio and contributed uncredited synthesizer work on the most popular single from Nicks’s solo career. “Stand Back” appears on Nicks’s second solo album, The Wild Heart and she shares publishing credit for it with Prince. Nicks released her eighth studio album, 24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault in 2014.
