Phife Dawg-Nutshell Produced By J.Dilla

A new and improved video for Phife Dawg’s J.Dilla-produced “Nutshell” was released tonight. There is new footage of Redman, Pete Rock, Rakim, De La Soul. Q-Tip, Jarobi and Ali Shaheed Muhammad sharing what Phife means to them weaved in with the original video. There was also a concert in his memory tonight given by A Tribe Called Quest at The Apollo that was streamed by Revolt. Kali Uchis-Only Girl Featuring Steve Lacy and Vince Staples Produced By Kaytranada

R&B singer Kali Uchis collaborates with Steve Lacy of The Internet and Vince Staples on the Kaytranada-produced “Only Girl.” Uchis just came off of a 2015 tour opening for Leon Bridges and the release of her critically acclaimed Por Vida project that had appearances from Tyler The Creator, BADBADNOTGOOD and more. The Los Angeles-based artist, who was born in Columbia and raised in Virginia is currently working on her debut album.


The Alabama Shakes-Gimme All Your Love Short Film

The Alabama Shakes partnered with Genero TV and invited filmmakers from around the world to make a short film using their song “Gimme All Your Love” as the soundtrack. After receiving over 100 submissions they chose this clip Larry Ismail & Marie-Laure Blancho as their official selection. You can watch this film and then see the other submissions here.


Jus Friends Presents The Detroit House and Techno All Stars in Support of Flint 2


 On Friday, April 8, 2016 from 8 pm to 2 am at TV Lounge in Detroit, Michigan, Jus Friends presents the Detroit Techno All Stars in Support of Flint 2 for a special event, “Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) 2”. In response to the Flint water crisis, the newly formed initiative together with prominent Detroit promoters collaborate to raise awareness in the electronic music community while providing world-class entertainment from Detroit’s best and brightest ‘All Stars’. The location offers 3 stages of music with a line-up of over 35 DJs and artists. Highlights of this event include appearances by the Godfather of techno Juan Atkins, Omar S, John Collins of Underground Resistance, and Minus artist Asher Perkins. Live acts, vocalists, and on-site live painting create a unique experience. $7000 was raised at the first installment of “Something in The Water (Does Not Compute)” on March 11, 2016. This amount made possible the donation of a semi-truck of bottled water from Absopure to the people of Flint. 100% of the proceeds from “Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) 2” will also directly benefit Flint through bottled water donations, with any remainder going to the Child Health and Development Fund. Tickets are $10, pre-sale online. The sponsors and promoters invite you, Detroit dignitaries, friends and community to attend this very special benefit in support of Flint’s water crisis within the groovy atmosphere of internationally renowned TV Lounge.

Indian Rap Star DIVINE Releases Video For Jungli Sher

DIVINE is the newest rap star from India and “Jungli Sher” which translates to Wild Lion, is his second single since signing a deal with Sony last year. The video has subtitles in English and visuals of DIVINE walking through the streets rapping about his life in the ghettos of Mumbai. In 2013, he released “Yeh Mera Bombay” (This Is My Bombay) and it quickly gained attention on the internet and in his country. Apple Music awarded him Best New Artist in 2015 and his song “Mere Gully Mein” (In My Streets) was honored as the Best Video of 2015 by Rolling Stone. There is no release date yet on his first album with Sony but the internet is already intrigued with his story and sound enough to make his next release a possible breakthrough to international stardom.
