Throwback: Vicky D-This Beat Is Mine


Vicky D was a New York R&B group that scored a party classic with their Gary R. Turnier-produced single, “This Beat Is Mine.” Vickie Diego was the vocalist from Brooklyn who was in front of the group bearing her name. Snoop Dogg sampled the 1981 song for “This Weed Iz Mine” from his 2011 Doggumentary album.

Russell Simmons Talks About Flint Water Crisis On The Real

Russell Simmons was a guest on “The Real” yesterday and he was asked for his opinion about the Flint water crisis. The hip-hop entrepreneur labeled the situation environmental racism and called for the arrest of Michigan governor Rick Snyder. Simmons will be in the Flint area this weekend with a gift of water from his RushCard company.
