Digable Planets Reuniting For Show In Seattle

Digable Planets are reuniting for the first time in four years for a show in Seattle on December 30th. The hip-hop trio from the ’90’s has been missed since their brief but powerful run that produced two tour de forces with Reachin’ (A New Refutation Of Time And Space) and Blowout Comb. Since then, Butterfly has released his Cherrywine project in 2003 and Ladybug Mecca’s solo album Trip The Light Fantastic came out in 2005. The same year saw the release of their Beyond the Spectrum: the Creamy Spy Chronicles Creamy Spies compilation. Doodlebug’s Cee Knowlege And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra released To Life, Love & Loot last year. These days Butterfly is Palaceer Lazaro as one-half of Shabazz Palaces who set a new standard for leftfield hip-hop with 2011’s Black Up. Digable Planets will perform at the Neptune Theater on the 30th and Shabazz Palaces have a show there on the following night. The Black Constellation and STG are presenting the event and tickets can be purchased here.
