Throwback: Daft Punk-Around The World

DaftPunkHomework

Daft Punk’s “Around The World” made them official leaders of the French house movement of the ’90’s and introduced them to American club music fans. The duo said making the song “was like making a Chic record with a talk box and just playing the bass on the synthesizer.” The song was a worldwide hit in the clubs and the Michel Gondry-directed video was just as infectious with its uses of dancers, lights and staircases.Their debut album, Homework is credited as being one of the albums to bring house music back to the mainstream before the rise of the EDM movement in the 2000s. Daft Punk’s fourth studio album, 2013’s Random Access Memories took home 5 Grammy’s lead by the success of the single, “Get Lucky.” The documentary, Daft Punk:Unchained will have a release date by the end of 2015.
