Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks participate in one of Houston’s last performances from the film Sparkle. The film will be in theaters August 17th and it’s going to have even greater success now that Houston is gone.

Sankofa is a string band dedicated to folk music and “If Wishes Were Gold” is the first single from The Uptown Strut. The album was a work-in-progress since 2009 and it is a collection of mostly cover songs but Allison Russell wrote “If Wishes Were Gold” about an unfulfilled personal relationship.
Syd the Kyd and Matt Martians are doing a few East Coast tour dates for their Purple Naked Ladies project.
