Common and LA Confidential Magazine celebrate launch of new music video “Sweet”
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 11, 2011) On Monday, November 14th Niche Media’s Los Angeles Confidential magazine and Grammy Award winning artist, actor, writer, Common will celebrate the launch of Common’s new music video “Sweet” with a screening and cocktail party. The “Sweet” video will also have an exclusive online premier at www.ustream.tv/channel/thinkcommonlive on Monday, Nov 14th @ 8pm EST/5pm PST. The video can be viewed for a donation of $1, with all proceeds going to J/P HRO. The event will take place at Rose Restaurant and the evening will double as a photo exhibition of images taken during Common’s recent trip to Haiti. Hollywood’s elite will help honor the powerful message displayed by the photography and music video, which was shot over a 4 day span in Haiti.
The music video captures not only the devastation left by the 2010 earthquake but more importantly the beauty and power of the Haitian people and the land. Team Common’s trip to Haiti was a life changing moment for all and the guests will be able to delve further into the trip with an opportunity to purchase a collection of photographs taken on location by photographer Steven Taylor and other members of Team Common. Guests will be able to purchase these photographs as well as a series of specially selected, limited edition photographs signed by Common. All proceeds from photography sales and online video donations will go to benefit the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Founded by Sean Penn immediately after the January 12th, 2010 earthquake, J/P HRO is managing programs in Camp Management, Medical, Rubble Removal, Community and Education, Redevelopment, and Emergency Response Operations.
