Jason Orr wrote, produced and directed this film about the stalwarts of soul music from the late ’80’s until the 2000’s. The FunkJazz Kafe is a multi-faceted festival that has taken place for 15 years. The Kafe has hosted numerous soul stars during its existence and many of them pop-up in the film. Orr’s subjects range from public intellectual Cornel West to Atlanta producer Dallas Austin. The film has a screening on July 14th at The Rialto Center for The Arts during the National Black Arts Festival. The password for the trailer is love.
