Two nights ago Bootsy Collins was joined by The Roots on The Jimmy Fallon show for a performance of “Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)” Fallon is proving to have some of the stronger musical showcases on television right now.

Onyx has reappeared with a video for their gritty “Classic Terror.” It’s definitely a vintage kind of feel with the footage of them and the backdrop of their various travels. No word on an album but this is a good sign.

Acclaimed Jazz Violinist Zach Brock To Tour U.S. In Support Of His New CD The Magic Number

New York, NY—Brooklyn-based jazz violinist and composer Zach Brock will perform a series of East Coast and Midwest concert dates from Monday, March 18th – Saturday, April 16th. Heralded as “the great bright hope for jazz violin” by the Chicago Tribune and as “the new cat” that has “the stuff” by jazz legend Stanley Clarke, Zach is joined by bassist Matt Wigton and drummer Fred Kennedy as they debut songs from The Magic Number, the fifth CD of his brand of American indie-jazz to be released on March 24th.

Teddy Pendergrass-I Am Who I Am

Teddy Pendergrass passed last year but he left behind some unreleased recordings. “I Am Who I Am” is a song he recorded in 2006 and only performed once. The song was released today at iTunes and other online retailers to mark his 61st birthday tomorrow. Tyrese Gibson is scheduled to portray Pendergrass in the movie about his life titled “I Am Who I Am: The Teddy Pendergrass Story.”
