Gladys Horton was the co-founder of the Marvelettes and sang lead on their hits “Please Mr. Postman,” “Beechwood 4-5789” and “Too Many Fish In The Sea.” The Inkster, MI native left the group in 1967 and reunited with them in the ’80s to record The Marvelettes…Now!. Horton also worked with author Marc Taylor on the group’s official biography, The Original Marvelettes – Motown’s Mystery Girl Group.
