Full Force is a six man family collective from Brooklyn, New York who started producing and writing songs for various artists in the ’80’s. Bowlegged Lou, Paul Anthony, Baby Gee, B-Fine, Shy Shy and Curt-T-T had a major breakthrough when they produced “Roxanne Roxanne” for UTFO in 1985. They also produced “I Wonder If I Take You Home” for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam in 1985 as well. The success of both projects lead to them getting a recording deal as a group. “All In My Mind” came from their third album Guess Who’s Comin’ To The Crib. There were other minor hits like “Ain’t My Type Of Hype,” “Alice, I Want You Just For Me,” “Temporary Love Thing,” “Love Is For Suckers,” “Friends B-4 Lovers” and “Unfaithful So Much.” But it is their work for others that put them in the history books. Lisa Lisa had more hits with “All Cried Out,” “Can You Feel The Beat,” “Head To Toe” and “Lost In Emotion.” Before the ’80’s were over they wrote and produced “Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)” for Samantha Fox, “Thanks For My Child” for Cheryl Pepsii Riley and the I’m Real album for James Brown that had the hits “Static” and “I’m Real.”
In the ’90’s Full Force wrote “I Just Wanna Be With You” for NSYNC, “All I Have To Give” for the Backstreet Boys and they were featured on the unreleased Britney Spears track “Luv The Hurt Away.” Full Force has continued their musical work in the 2000s by collaborating with will.i.am on “Don’t Phunk With My Heart” and producing Rihanna’s 2005 hit “That La, La, La.” Lil Kim’s 2002 song “Can’t Fuck With Queen Bee” from La Bella Mafia was a Full Force production. Prince’s ex-wife Mayte, has an album of unreleased material called Child Of The Sun that has the Full Force touch. They have worked with many other artists including Patti LaBelle, Doctor Ice, The Force M.D.s, La Toya Jackson and Selena among others. Still Standing from 2001 is their recording released as a group.
