G-Unit’s first independent release with multi-platinum recording star LLOYD BANKS’ hit single, “Beamer, Benz Or Bentley,” has recently been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association In America, with over 500,000 copies sold.

El DeBarge Talks To The AJC

El DeBarge spoke with the Atlanta-Journal Constitution about his comeback project Second Chance and the second chance he’s had to get off drugs and live a better life. There is no release date for the album but DeBarge will start a tour with Mary J. Blige on October 7th.

Dick Griffey, the founder of SOLAR Records passed over the weekend. Shalamar, The Whispers, Dynasty, Lakeside, Klymaxx, Midnight Star, Carrie Lucas. Calloway and The Deele all recorded for SOLAR. In addition to being a Berry Gordy-like music mogul of the ’80s Griffey is responsible for mentoring Suge Knight on the music business.

MP3: Nottz – “Blast That” Featuring Black Milk

Originally scheduled for an October 12th release, Nottz and his label Raw Koncept Media Group have announced a new release date for the album, October 26th. While his fans eagerly await You Need This Music, the Grammy winning producer/rapper is releasing a new single to appease fans’ appetite over the extended wait.
