G-Dep joined the Bad Boy family in 1999 and started out by making guest appearances on albums for Diddy and Biggie. His album Child Of The Ghetto was released in 2001 and “Special Delivery” was his first single and it gave him an identity as a solo artist. “Let’s Get It” is the video that most credit with introducing the Harlem Shake dance. Child Of The Ghetto got G-Dep to the mainstream but longtime fans believe his best work was done before Bad Boy when he released mixtapes on the underground circuit. G-Dep later appeared on projects lead with Guru and DJ Premier. In 2007 he and Loon released the mixtape Bad Boy and he put another one out last year called Deponomics. He performed “Special Delivery” as recently as last May at The Elegant Hoodness Showcase.
