Alabama’s Rising Star, Birmingham J, Signs To Indie Heavyweight Babygrande Records; Drops New Mixtape


Over the past few years, Birmingham J, the burgeoning young star from Birmingham, Alabama, has been building his profile in the south, having already worked with such artists as Bun B, Lil John, Kia Shine, Rich Boy, Sean P, Bobby Valentino, T-Pain & many more. Now, looking to broaden his significant regional base, Birmingham J has signed with indie heavyweight Babygrande Records in a joint venture with Kottage Boy Ent.

New Rza Album & Wu-Tang Tour/ Role In Judd Apatow Film


Wu Music Group, the new label ran by the administrative mind of Mitchell “Divine” Diggs and the creative force of Wu-Tang Clan’s chief architect, “The RZA”, will release their second album, Afro Samurai: The Resurrection, on January 27th, 2009. The album is the soundtrack to season two of Spike TV’s critically lauded animated television show and DVD featuring the voice of Samuel L Jackson and is musically produced entirely by Wu Tang Clan’s The RZA. The soundtrack features unlikely collaborations and guest spots from legendary recording artists such as Sly Stone, members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Kool G Rap, Rah Digga, and a whole cast of RZA’s protégé’s, including the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son – Boy Jones. This highly anticipated release demonstrates RZA’s incredible genius and ability to unite some of the finest voices in hip-hop together in one place. The multi-talented producer/actor will also hit the big screen again later in the year as he co-stars in the upcoming comedy from writer/director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) out summer 2009. He will be seen alongside Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in Funny People, the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience.

Hundreds of at-risk New York City youth affiliated with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation-supported programs had the time of their lives last night at Rush Philanthropic’s Ninth Annual Youth Holiday Party sponsored by Target. It all happened at The Fillmore NY @ Irving Plaza. Dawn Richards of Danity Kane hosted the holiday party which included appearances by Russell Simmons, hip-hop artists Jim Jones and Teyana Taylor, JoJo Simmons (son of Reverend Run) of Run’s House on MTV, BET’s Alesha Renee, radio personality Egypt, America’s Next Top Model Jaslene Gonzalez, TV hit “Heroes” Jamie Hecter, platinum selling singer/producer Ryan Leslie, Que from the group Day 26 on MTV’s “Making The Band”, Darrelle Revis from the New York Jets and many more.

Flo Rida to Peform at 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards

CHATSWORTH, CA – AVN (Adult Video News) announced today that rap sensation Flo Rida will be performing at the 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards on January 10, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The Grammy™-nominated artist will open the show which is now in its 26th year. The 2009 event will be co-hosted by two of the biggest stars in the adult film industry, Belladonna and Jenna Haze.
